As
the progress continues on our new parish center, Bishop Reilly
joined us on Saturday, June 28th for the blessing and placement of
the cornerstone for our new parish center. This stone is taken
from remnants of the original church and school that was lost by
fire on December 19, 1999. This stone is a physical reminder
of the solid gift of our faith that even fire can not extinguish or
destroy. This stone has been engraved with the date and year,
along with reminders of our sharing in the larger mystery of the
church from our pastor and bishop to the Pope in Rome.
Scripture says of Jesus as the cornerstone, that which the builders
has rejected has become the cornerstone and it is marvelous to
behold.' Those present for this historic ceremony shared
similar sentiment that the work done will stand to the greater glory
of God for generations to come!
