| The architectural firm, Hajian
Associates, based in Watertown, MA, was hired by our parish to perform the
Master Planning on where to site our new building. Following that,
the parish hired this firm to design our new parish center. The
following are some helps to visualize this new center. It will
be roughly 60 by 65 feet, and include three full stories, one of them
being a full basement. Total space is in the vicinity of 15,000
square feet compared with about 8,700 total square footage of space in the
building that was lost in the fire. That building did not have a
full center, only a foundation with a crawl space and furnace room. |

| Above is a three dimensional prototype of our
building under construction. This view is as the building would be
seen facing Hamilton Street. |
This view moves to the side, standing at the rectory and looking at the new
building. To the left with the angled roof is the chapel, parish offices
would be located toward the right. The overhang covers the door that would
be accessed from the parking lot. |
This view moves more toward the parking lot
and would be viewed from the site of the former garage. Here the
chapel is seen on two sides at the corner. The far end of the
building is where a conference room would be located. Beyond is the
TCA building. |
This view would be seen from a higher vantage
point and is where the new building and the school building share a common
service area. The building to the lower left corner is the
pre-school area behind the gym. The area between the buildings will
be a securedcourtyard.
|
| The building will be constructed
of masonry. The current plan is to use a manufactured stone
that has a yellowish brown hue with rose colored accent stones. The
following are two colored drawings to render an idea of what the building
might look like in living color! |
 |
The drawing to the left is of the front of
the building as it would face Hamilton Street. |
The drawing to the right is the side of the
building that will face toward the rectory and the church. The
chapel is on the left and the offices to the right. The extensions
in the front are the porches and their railings on the main and second
floors. |
 |
| To the right are the floor plans for each of
the levels of the new building. |
 |
 |
 |
| In the center of each floor design is the
elevator and opposite it the stairwell that links all three levels.
To the right of the elevator are lavatories on each level. |
This is the basement. To the back is a
large storage area. In the front, on the right is the food pantry;
to the left, a large room for groups and meetings. To the right of
the building is an access area to the cafeteria and a doorway. |
The main floor will see the most
activity. In the lower left corner are the parish offices; above
them a chapel that can seat 40-50 people. In the upper right corner,
a conference room, below that a kitchen, and in the lower right corner a
multi-purpose room for meetings. |
The top level will be used primarily for
Religious Education classes and overflow parish meetings. There are
eight different sized rooms with two different spaces that can serve as
offices or a lounge or parish parlor. |
