"The Boys"

The most important part of the Fraternite des Juenes (FJ) are the boys that live there.  These are our pride and joy, the boys we support, and an extended part of our family at Saint Mary's:  Their school grades are as of September 2004, given their successful completion of last's year's studies.

FJ has a total capacity to house 16 boys. The pictures on the left were taken in the summer of 2003; those on the left were taken in August of 2004 and the last picture were taken in July 2006.  Notice the change in the boys who were more recent arrivals during the summer of 2003 to 2004.  Our help is noticeable not only in their size, but also their demeanor in front of a camera; they evidence greater confidence after spending a year at FJ!

 

Closell Closell arrived at FJ in June 2002, he was born in 1991 and he will be entering 4th grade in September.

Frantz Frantz arrived at FJ in the spring of 2002, he was born in 1992 and he will be entering 4th grade at the Salesian School.
Jean-Gardie Jean-Gardie was born in 1989 and he has completed his initial six grades of study and is now enrolled in a trade school.  Because of his age is no longer a resident at FJ, but we do support his educational needs.
Marquelor Marc arrived at FJ in June of 2002. He was born in 1994 and he will begin the 3rd grade at the Salesian school in September.
Marcelin Marcelin was born in 1991 and he will be entering his 5th year of study at the Salesian school.
Makenson Makenson was born in 1993 and he will be in 3rd grade this year at the Salesian school.

Chierry Chierry is in the 3rd year of studies at the Salesian school.
Rousvelt Roosvelt arrived at FJ in June of 2002.  He's in the 4th grade at the Salesian school.
Ysme Ysme was born in 1994, he's in the 4th grade at the Salesian school.

Johny Johny arrived in late summer of 2002 and he's in the 3rd grade at the Salesian school.

Emanuel Emanuel arrived in March of 2003, his mother died during our visit in July of 2003.  He's in 3rd grade at the Salesian school.
Schneider Schneider arrived in late 2002 and he will be in the 3rd grade at the Salesian school.
FJ Alumni Once our boys reach the age of eighteen they need to move out of the house.  This has to do with their own needs as they move into adulthood as much as it is about keeping order in the house and making room for younger boys in need.  The following are young men whom we have supported during our visits and while they no longer live at FJ, their involvement in education is funded by our parishioners as well as making contact as we can during our missionary visits.   Please click on the thumbnail for a larger view.
Jean-Pierre Jean-Pierre was born in 1987, and he's completed his six year of studies at the Salesian school and is now enrolled in a vocational school.
Mathurin Mathurin is Marcelin's older brother, born in 1987 and he's completed his six year of studies at the Salesian school and is now enrolled in a vocational school.
Samuel Samuel was born in 1988 and he has completed six years of study amd his vocational school training.  Our last report in July of 2008 is that he runs an electrical repair shop in Port au Prince.
